Apple Event 2025: Highlights
New Apple devices released during this Awe Dropping Event.
The wait is finally over!
On September 9, 2025, Apple hosted the Awe Dropping event at the Steve Jobs Theatre and unveiled the new and long-awaited iPhone 17 lineup. Alongside it, Apple also announced the new Apple Watch Series 11 and SE, the Apple Watch Ultra 3, the new AirPods Pro 3, and a brand-new iPhone model: the iPhone Air.
I believe many people, myself included, were expecting to see the iPhone Air eventually, but I don’t think anyone was truly prepared to see it become a reality. When it appeared on my screen, my first reaction was literally: OMG. It felt unreal seeing Apple drastically change direction while betting on something completely new at the same time.
Let’s quickly go through each of the products announced and their main improvements.
📱 iPhone 17
This is probably the most improved device on the list. As a standard iPhone, the iPhone 17 now features a larger 6.3-inch display with ProMotion up to 120Hz, an improved and more optimised battery management system, a new 48MP Dual Fusion camera system, and a Centre Stage front camera.
All iPhone 17 models come with the new A19 processor, with slightly different variants depending on the model.
📱 iPhone 17 Pro (and Pro Max)
In addition to all the improvements mentioned above, the Pro models feature the A19 Pro processor variant, delivering Apple’s best-ever performance, camera system, and battery life on an iPhone.
One change that really surprised me is that Apple decided to switch back to an aluminium unibody design instead of titanium, which was used on last year’s iPhone 16 Pro models. The reason is because aluminium dissipates heat better than titanium, which should help overall performance and reduce overheating.
Also and probably for the first time ever, there’s no Black colour option for the iPhone Pro and Pro Max this year. I know… shocking. It’s usually my go-to colour!
📱 iPhone Air
This is the brand-new iPhone model and probably the one stealing most of the attention right now (including mine).
The iPhone Air features the same A19 Pro processor, an incredibly thin and lightweight design made from polished aluminium and glass (which Apple claims is more durable than any previous model), and all-day battery life. This one definitely feels like Apple taking a bold step forward and I’m excited to see its successor in 2026, honestly.
⌚ Apple Watch Ultra 3, Series 11, and SE 3
Apple Watch also received an all-new lineup with powerful new features and overall performance improvements.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 now includes satellite communication features such as Emergency SOS via satellite and location sharing via satellite. In my opinion, this is easily the ultimate sports and adventure watch especially for people into extreme or outdoor sports who need something reliable on their wrist 24/7. It also offers up to 42 hours of battery life.
The Apple Watch Series 11 introduces new health and fitness features, including sleep scoring insights, and delivers up to 24 hours of battery life.
Lastly, the Apple Watch SE (3rd generation) brings major performance upgrades and new features like temperature sensing, an Always-On display, and more. This is clearly the best value option and will likely be the go-to choice for anyone looking for something reliable, efficient, and affordable.
🎧 AirPods Pro 3
Another great and expected update from Apple. The new AirPods Pro 3 brings improved sound quality and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a more optimised design for better fit, and even heart-rate monitoring during workouts.
One standout feature for me is Live Translation, which allows face-to-face conversations even when people don’t speak the same language. I genuinely think many people will benefit from this simply because it feels like a whole new way to connect with others without the usual language barrier.
