Apple iPhone 17e
iPhone 17e in all colours: Black, White, and Soft Pink.
Earlier this month, Apple released the much talked about and highly anticipated iPhone 17e. This model now joins the 2026 iPhone lineup, replacing its predecessor, the iPhone 16e.
The new iPhone 17e now comes with the latest-generation Apple A19 Bionic chip, the same chip found in the standard iPhone 17. That means it delivers excellent performance for everyday tasks, apps, and gaming.
In terms of design, this new model hasn’t really changed when compared to the iPhone 16e. Many users, including myself, were expecting Apple to introduce the Dynamic Island instead of the traditional notch, especially since most modern smartphones have already moved away from the notch design. But that wasn’t the case this time. The iPhone 17e keeps the same overall look, including the single rear camera and the 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with a 60Hz refresh rate.
It also comes with the new Ceramic Shield 2 for improved durability and scratch resistance. One welcome change, however, is the return of MagSafe. This was a missed feature on the iPhone 16e, and now users can once again take advantage of the full ecosystem of MagSafe accessories with the iPhone 17e.
In the camera department, the iPhone 17e now features a 48MP Fusion single camera with an optical-quality 2× telephoto option. With this new 48MP sensor, users can choose to shoot photos at the full 48MP resolution or at 24MP, which helps keep file sizes more manageable while still delivering excellent detail. Portrait mode and HDR have also been improved, helping the phone capture more balanced photos with better lighting and colour.
One of the highlights of the iPhone 17e is definitely the battery life. Having a phone that still uses a 60Hz display can actually help with efficiency. According to Apple, this model delivers all-day battery life and can charge up to 50 percent in about 30 minutes.
Overall, the iPhone 17e is a great option for users who don’t need a Pro model or simply don’t want to spend a lot of money on a phone. It’s definitely a simpler device, but it still delivers what most people expect from a smartphone today.
In the end, the iPhone 17e feels like a very practical addition to the lineup. It keeps things simple, focuses on solid performance, a reliable camera, and great battery life, and avoids the higher price tags of the Pro models. For many users, that balance might be exactly what they’re looking for in a phone, and now available in Black, White and Soft Pink, which in my honest opinion is the pretties of them all.
