The MacBook Air M4 Is Here

Apple MacBook Air with M4

There was a little rumour going on that Apple was about to release some extra devices by the end of March and well, they have! However, it’s not the device that everyone thought it would be - the supposed “iPhone 17 Air”.

Apple has launched a new MacBook Air with its newest M4 chipset . This might be the best MacBook Air Apple ever released and surely will make a lot of users pretty happy and satisfied. So if you’re someone like me — always on the go, obsessed with design, and not trying to lug around a beast of a laptop — this is one to watch.

What is new with the new M4 MacBook Air?

  • M4 Chipset – Blazing fast. Apple says it's up to 35% faster than the M2, and apps open in a blink.

  • Same Featherlight Design – No redesign here, but still sleek at just over 11mm thin.

  • Better Battery Life – Up to 18 hours. That's a full day and a Netflix binge.

  • More RAM Options – Up to 32GB for the multitaskers - now starting at 16GB RAM.

  • AI-Ready – M4 includes a stronger Neural Engine for AI/ML tasks (and yes, macOS is getting more AI-flavored features soon).

  • Available in 13" and 15" – Pick your vibe.

  • Support for external displays - up to two external displays up to 6k resolution each.

  • Frontal Camera: a new 12 megapixel camera with Centre Stage feature so you are always in the centre of the frame when video calling.

  • Skyblue - a new colour (and it’s gorgeous), and space grey colour is no longer available.

Apple’s entire line of MacBooks is now supporting the new M4 chipset, which is technically and considerably faster than its previous chipsets versions, but is this upgrade for everyone? In short, no - this new M4 Air is not for everyone - in fact it is not worth upgrading if you are rocking a M2 or M3 chipset version - those should be running smoothly still, but if you have an Intel MacBook or a M1 version this might be your turn to upgrade. It’s powerful enough for creative tasks, yet minimal and portable enough for day-to-day use.

And because this is the first Mac with M4, you’re also kind of future-proofing yourself. Apple tends to support their machines for years — and with M4, you’ll be in the front seat for all the software goodies coming down the line.

Who is this MacBook Air For?

This update is perfect for:

  • Students who want power and battery life

  • Creatives who need light video/photo editing

  • Remote workers and writers (like me) who crave reliability

  • Anyone who skipped M2 and M3 and wants to future-proof their setup

  • If you're using your laptop mainly for web, documents, design, or even coding — this one is for you.

This isn’t a dramatic visual overhaul — but it’s a smart, meaningful performance upgrade and I believe the M4 MacBook Air nails what most of us want: speed, style, battery, and that classic Mac reliability.

I’m personally excited to see how it handles upcoming macOS features and how Apple leans into AI on-device. And yes — it still looks gorgeous in Skyblue.
