Apple Intelligence language support
Apple Intelligence
The new iOS update in April, 18.4, is bringing a few updates that were mainly expected by users of specific regions around the world and that is that Apple Intelligence will finally have its support to more languages, and they included:
French
Chinese (simplified)
German
Italian
Japanese
Korean
Portuguese (Brazil)
Spanish
Localise English for Singapore and India
The support for those languages will be available not only to iPhone users via the iOS 18.4, but also to iPadOS 18.4 and macOS Sequoia 15.4. However, developers can access early versions of this update as of now. To enabled the developer mode on your iPhone go in:
Settings >> General >> Software Updates >> Beta Updates >> and check the option “ iOS 18 Developer Beta”
Once you’ve checked the option “iOS 18 Developer Beta” you should be receiving beta updates to test pre-release versions of iOS.
It’s worth mentioning that Beta versions are usually packed with bugs therefore your experience with the device’s OS may change and/or won’t be seamless.
Beta versions are worth trying if you have a spare iPhone that you don’t use on a daily-basis so your experience with your primary device isn’t compromised.
Additionally, users in the EU will be able to access Apple Intelligence features for the first time. Apple has confirmed that the idea is to continue to expand the Apple Intelligence features along the upcoming months as well as include more capabilities for Siri.
Apple Intelligence is the AI feature now available to iPhones from the 15 lineup model to the 16 ones, and it’s developed by Apple Inc., with the purpose of enhancing user capabilities and features across all Apple OS platforms. One of the main advantages of this AI developed by Apple is that the model uses a on-device processing, which means that it prioritises user privacy performing AI processing directly on the device ensuring that your data remains secure and private. Unfortunately, users from the 14 lineup or below aren’t able to access the features of Apple Intelligence due to limitations in power processing of those chipsets.
